The Watchers of the UB
The Taken
[presto] Species: Watcher Age: Birth date: Player: Giles Face Claim: Anthony Stewart Head Bio: To be Entered Note: Giles is based off the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV show & comic book series. Personality Traits: Intelligent, Knowledgeable, Does the Necessary, British, Fatherly Love. Abilities: Uncanny ability to get knocked out cold, Careful, Courageous, Skilled with Weapons, Book-ish. | [presto] Species: Watcher Age: 41 Player: Wesley Wyndam-Pryce Face Claim: Alexis Denisof Bio: Wesley grew up a mostly unhappy child, driven mainly by his demanding father. He was successful in school and took any chance he could to improve himself and his education. Eventually earning the role of Head Boy at his school, this paved the way for him to begin his Watcher training. Wes first showed up in Sunnydale to be Faith's Watcher. His approach was greatly different from Giles which caused near immediate conflict with the rest of the group. Wesley showed a strict attention to detail and a 'by the book' approach to training the Slayer. Lacking any real combat experience or street smarts, he proved quite useless in a battle. Over time, he eased up his strict ways and learned that real world experience was more effective in a fight. He eventually went against the Council and supported Buffy and the Scoobies in the fight against the Mayor. Wesley was eventually fired from the Watchers Council for incompetence. Without a place or a purpose in the world, Wesley took on a new persona...Rogue Demon Hunter. More of a character than a real internal development, Wesley played this role to give his life some meaning and as an outlet for his knowledge. Eventually, Wesley encountered Angel Investigations and assisted the group in various cases. He was offered a job with the group which he accepted and soon proved a valuable member of the time. His deep knowledge of the occult, sorcery, and black arts was regularly utilized by Angel and company on the growing number of cases. After Angel dives deeper into his darkside in order to battle Wolfram and Hart, Wesley takes control of Angel Investigations and continues its operation. Wes proved himself a brilliant strategist and capable leader during Angel's absence. Some time later after Angel has rejoined the group, Wesley is forced to make a hard decision for the sake of the world. He was forced out of what he believed was the truth, to kidnap Angel's child Connor. He was then the object of Angel's rage, betrayed, and outcast from the group. Wesley was consumed with self loathing and it seemed as if every turn only had a darker outcome. One of the darkest was his affair with Lilah that only deepened his anger and sense of loss from the group. After saving Angel with his own blood, Wesley is once more made a member of A.I. His demeanor and overall outlook on life is dramatically shifted at this point. He is much more determined, ruthless again, and heavily focused on getting results by the most dangerous of methods. He makes the decision to remove large portions of Angel's and the rest of the world's memory around this time to get rid of any notion of Connor. Soon after, Wesley and the rest of the team agree to take over Wolfram and Hart. During the Wolfram and Hart time, Wesley sees trauma after trauma. From killing what he thinks is his father, falling in love with Fred only to see her be turned into Illyria, and more friction with Gunn...he sinks into the bottle. "Wesley holds onto Illyria as the only thing he has left of Fred, helping her understand the human world she is unfamiliar with. He inadvertently restores his and his friends' memories of Connor when he smashes the Orlon Window, thinking that Angel had betrayed his trust. Wesley visibly feels guilty after remembering how he betrayed his friends by taking Connor from Angel and later apologizes to Gunn for stabbing him. Towards the end of the season, Angel proposes an attack against the Circle of the Black Thorn, a powerful group of demons under the employ of the Wolfram & Hart's Senior Partners. In the show's final episode, Wesley does battle with the warlock Cyvus Vail and is mortally wounded. He spends his dying moments with Illyria at his side, finally agreeing to let the demon take the form of Fred, thus allowing Wesley, in some way, to say goodbye to the woman he loved."-wiki article. (More time passes depending on what all events have happened in this group, but eventually he awakens in the White Room, brought back to life since his contract with Wolfram and Hart counteracted his death....more details obviously to follow) Note: Wesley is based off the Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel TV shows & comic books series. Personality Traits: Ruthless, Determined, Dedicated, and a firm observer of details. Abilities: Superior knowledge of demonology, Sorcery, and the black arts; Genius-level intellect, Skilled marksman, Skilled in martial arts, Brilliant strategist | [presto] Species: Watcher Age: 26 Birth date: Player: Andrew Wells Face Claim: Tom Lenk Bio: Andrew Wells is the little brother to Tucker wells. he always fell in the shadow of his older brother, even to the point of being known as "Tucker's brother" by most people. His childhood was frought with anxiety and as a 'hobby' he learned to conjure demons. When Tucker unleashed the Hell Hounds on the Prom, Andrew secretly wished he could have been there to see it. Instead he locked himself away in his room where no one could bother him. To this day he shies away from doing things in front of others. It wasn't until after he graduated from High school though, that Andrew began to see himself as something more. He saw himself as powerful. His ability to conjure demons put on the radar of Warren Mears, who took the younger boy under his wing, so to speak, and helped him to hone his skills. That summer he, along with Warren and Jopnathan levenson, decided to make the Slayer their primary target. This only came after she nearly foiled their plot to rob a bank. The Trio, as Andrew called them, were supposed to become uber-villains. Instead they became a joke. With the increasing pressure from Warren and the insistant harping from Jonathan, Andrew realized they were never going to take over Sunnydale. Heck, they couldn't even manage to rob one stupid armored car. That was the night that turned everythign around for Andrew. Jonathan kept telling him that Warren wasn't coming for them after he left them behind at the site of the heist. Andrew wanted to believe Warren was his friend but deep down he knew he'd been used. Then Dark Willow tried to kill him, after she's flayed Warren first, of course. How fun.. Mexico wasn't a cake walk. It was hot, humid and dry a lot of the time. And Andrew was having a hard time learning spanish. Jonathan teased him anout this because even though he couldn't speak spanish, Andrew knew every inch of the Klingon/English dictionary and knew how to speak it fluently. The remaining pair returned to Sunnydale after nightmares drove them to. Neither of them wanted to come back to the Hell Mouth but the dreams just would not go away. So, after stealing a beat up El Camino, they came back. The ghostly figure of Warren followed Andrew around all summer. It told him about the Seal and how he, Jonathan and Warren were going to be Gods someday if things went in the right direction. He only had to do one little thing first. A sacrifice of sorts. Killing Jonathan wasn't as hard as he thought it would have been. He simply pretebded it was someone else he was stabbing. Andrew's unfortunate ability to mix up realities made him able to do this terrible act. He was, however followed by the ghost of not only Warren now, but Jonathan too. He was on edge, yet he let himself be drawn into his imaginary world where *he* was the hero in the tale. He twisted everything around in his head, making himself the best and everyone else the follower when the opposite was true. He became an unofficial memeber of the scooby-gang after Willow spotted him at the butcher shop buying blood. He remained with the Slayer and a house full of potentials, under constant survailance. In the Battle to close the Hellmouth forever, Andrew fought along side Anya, a vengence demon who, for some reason stayed behind to fight. Andrew never really caught why. With the Hellmouth closed and Sunnydale a huge crater int he earth, Andrew went under the tutelage of Giles and became a Watcher. He has been to Italy and england, as well as going with Willow to the offices of Wolfram and Hart to visit Angel. To this day, he still doesn't understand why he didn't die. Note: Andrew is based off the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV show & comic book series Personality Traits: Abilities: | [presto] Species: Watcher Age: 25 Birth date: Player: Asher Kincaid Face Claim: Jackson Rathbone Bio: Asher was born in New York City but raised all over the globe. His folks were rich so they traveled where ever.. whenever. It was during a visit to London when he was about fifteen that he came upon a group of older men in Hyde Park. They were discussing the latest demon outbreak, though in hushed voices. Asher, being a quiet kid, was able to get close enough to hear what they were saying. He approached one of them later on and asked them to teach him what they were talking about. They told him to wait three years and come back, which he did. When Asher returned to them he was taller and, as the women in the building would often comment, rather attractive. He always blushed furiously when they'd compliment him. He began his Watcher training in the summer of 2002. He was good at what he did and excelled in the ranks. By the next summer he was working on some of the heavier cases and even though he'd never left London, he was aware and (secretly) liked to work on the Summers case. He knew pretty much all there was about her and the things she had done in the past few years. Asher was in the building across the street getting coffee for the elders of the Council when the explosion rocked the city. The Watchers' Council had been blown up. He knew this could happen and he knew what he had to do now. He had to hide. So, going deep underground (figuratively), Asher went into hiding. He hoped things would clear up soon. In a tiny apartment in a small suburb of London, Asher hid himself and all the books he was able to salvage form the building. He knew there was only one place he had to go. It took less than a month and things started to get better. Asher went back to the old building and saw an older gentleman there. He quietly introduced himself. and asked about the building. When the man said that he used to work there.. "on the fifth floor" Asher knew he was a Watcher. He introduced himself and the two started talking. Less than a week later Asher was on a plane to LA, then on a bus... to Sunnydale. As he rode the bus his mind raced, not knowing what was going to meet him and how they'd react to another Watcher. How She'd react. Note: Asher is an Original Character. Personality Traits: Abilities: | [presto] Species: Watcher Age: 46 Birth date: Player: Philip York Face Claim: Paul Bettany Bio: Born in South London in the early 70's, Philip was raised along side two sisters. One older, one younger. Stuck in the middle caused him to develop a sense of entitlement. As the only son, he believed he would inherit his family's estate upon his father's death. From early on in his life he learned all he could from his father about the Watchers. His father, Reginald, was one of the Senior Watchers and poured all of his knowledge into his young son. Through his mother and sisters, Philip learned to be selfish. His sisters never shared with him and his mother made his fight for everything he got. She believed that tough love was better than coddling. Upon leaving school Philip went on to attend both Oxford and Cambridge, graduating with degrees in Medicine and Life Sciences, as well as Genetics. Through determination gleaned from years of being kicked around by his mother, Phil studied hard and was set to graduate in the top 5 of his class at Oxford. Upon finding out he wasn't top of the class, he orchestrated several "accidents" for those fellow classmates that stood in his way. One poisoning, two auto accidents and one "suicide" later, Philip was named Top of the class and graduated with honours. After Oxford, he went on to Cambridge where he studied Medical Law. Again, he did his very best and via the same tactics graduated top of his class there as well. Now in his late 20s and finished with University, Reginald insisted that his son join him in the Watchers' Council. Reluctantly, Philip agreed. He was a junior watcher for five years before becoming a full fledged Watcher. After this, on orders, Phil went to America to find a potential Slayer to train. Landing in LAX, Philip was accosted by the noise of LA and thought the whole city to be disgusting and beneath him. He got a small apartment in a less than savory part of the city and began to look for a job. He ended up stopping in at a law firm, seeking something menial until he could find something in medicine. That law firm was Wolfram and Hart. W&H saw the potential in the young doctor and hired him to work in their medical department. Philip was delighted when he saw his laboratory. Everything was shiny and perfect. He took to the job with gusto and excelled in his field, genetics. He worked deep in the medical lab for years until he was tasked with a job, something not entirely a part of his job description. So he packed a bag and went..... home. Arriving in London, he went to visit his father, per orders, at Watcher Headquarters. There he told his father, the only person he every trusted, about his orders. Furious, his father refused to allow his son to leave Headquarters and called for guards to seize his own son. Equally furious, Philip attacked his father and killed him in a fit of rage. When the guards arrived, Philip was gone, but still in the building. Per his orders from W&H he set a chemical explosion deep in the heart of the building then he left as fast as he could, passing a couple of young watchers as he exited. Moments later while Philip was sipping tea in a small cafe when an explosion of epic proportions rumbled through the city. He'd done it. Philip had destroyed Watcher Headquarters. Satisfied, he returned to LA to deliver the good news. The Senior Partners were very pleased with Philip and his position was elevated from staff to director of the Genetics lab. Once he was set in an office, Philip began to put his plan into motion, something he'd been working on since his Oxford days. Genetic splicing to create the ultimate being. He began to experiment with humans. He created a serum of Alpha Wolf DNA along with the venom of a Master Vampire in an attempt to create the ultimate being of destruction. Failure after failure, Philip was getting frustrated. It wasn't until he contacted a buddy of his father's, Ethan Rayne, that he thought he had what he needed. Ethan was to perform the ritual while Philip injected the serum. Two more weeks and sixteen more dead bodies later, they were no closer to succeeding. Then Philip remembered the girl. Siobhan was only a baby when she was acquired by the firm. Identified to be a Potential Slayer, W&H was using her to be the muscle for the Firm. However, when Phil offered his suggestion to the Senior Partners, that he use Shiv in his experiment, they agreed. Potentials were a dime a dozen these days anyway. With Ethan at the Book and Phil handling the serum, they injected Shiv and four grueling hours later, there she was, still alive, but changed. It had worked! Philip dubbed his new race Reavers. Three days later, as Shiv was being trained, a worker from the mail room got too close and she bit him. He writhed and screamed for an hour or two before rising as a Reaver. The species could continue through bites, like the werewolf and vampire. Philip sequestered Shiv in a bunker to train her and make sure she answered only to him. he needed her to be obedient to him. Now, he was sending Shiv to Sunnydale to join the growing squad of potential slayers. W&H had ordered him to send her there to infiltrate the Slayer's cells and find out how she worked, and how to stop her. Note: Philip is an Original Character. Personality Traits: Abilities: |
[presto] Species: Watcher Age: 45 Birth date: Player: Akio Reed Face Claim: Hiroyuki Sanada Bio: Born Akio Shichirou Nakahara in a small farming village in Japan. Akio was eager to learn everything about the world around him. Poking his nose into any book he could get hold of when he wasn’t helping tend the fields. Tales told of a dark cave in the nearby forest. A cursed place children were warned to never disturb. Of course being the curious boy he was Akio couldn’t help but investigate. From a distance it indeed looked just as foreboding as told. It seemed so out of place among the peaceful forest, the swaying branches and singing birds. Ropes bearing blessed tokens crossed its dark maw, perhaps to keep wanderers away, or (as young Akio would learn) to keep something in. The boys of the village quickly made a game of the cave. Seeing who dared get closest. Each boy taking turns. Most only made a few shaky steps before fear won, sending them running back to their laughing taunting comrades. But one day Akio made it more then a few steps. He glanced back at his friends, to their awe struck faces and took yet another step. Turning back to the cave he held his head high, he would go farther then any of them dared to go. Another shaky step forward and another. Now he could hear his friends calling, pleading for him to come back, to not go any closer. But he did. A shaking hand reached out for the rope lifting it ever so slightly he took a breath and stepped underneath. An unearthly scream filled his ears as he stepped over the threshold, red eyes glowing in the dark depths. Young Akio turned and ran back out of the cave tearing the rope free in his wake. He and his friends ran as fast as they could, back to their village and seemingly to safety. Not knowing it followed them home. To this day Akio is still haunted by the images. The sounds of screams that woke him from sleep. The orange glow of fire, the acrid smell of smoke. A dark blur passing his window. He was out of bed. Walking through their small home the air thick with smoke, he called out for Mother but there was no answer. Outside now. His bare feet were wet. Looking down he was standing in a river of blood. His eyes followed that river to the bodies. His parents pale faces starring back at him from among the corpses. He opened his mouth to scream but the dark figure emerged and the sound died in his throat. He stood, unable to move as the figure drew close, fierce red eyes fixed on his own. A clawed hand rose up then descended across the boys chest. The warmth of blood soaked through his night shirt and the boy collapsed. He awoke the next morning to a scene of destruction. Houses and fields burned. Everything was gone. Even the bodies. All the people, even the animals. Deep inside Akio knew. It took them and it was his fault. Authorities eventually arrived, lured by the black smoke drifting into the sky. No one really spoke of what happened, the case seemingly just swept under the rug. Akio was the only survivor and with no living relatives he was whisked away to an orphanage. There he stayed until being adopted by an English couple Sue and Jake Reed. It took some adjusting but eventually he accepted them as a his new family. He still had nightmares, glimpses of that horrible night would wake him in a sweat. His adoptive mother Sue would come to him, soothing the boy with gentle words and giving him a butterscotch candy. One day while his parents were out Akio got to exploring the attic of their home. Coming across a trunk of old books he could not resist. They turned out to be the journals and studies of his adoptive grandfather, one Montgomery J Reed, who it turned out was something called a Watcher. Reading through the books, discovering the truth of the super natural world, Akio decided that would be his path. He would become one of these Watchers. He would learn anything and everything he could to help lead the fight against the forces of darkness and maybe someday avenge the death and destruction that befell his birth place. Now living in Sunnydale, he has a modest size apartment though is most often found at the Slayer Academy where he teaches. He usually spends his spare time training and studying, his secret subject of interest is the true identity and current whereabouts of the evil being that attacked him in his youth. Note: Akio is an Original Character. Personality Traits: Work-a-holic, Physical training Not the type to easily show his emotions, Offers advice if he can, Finds little time for matters of an intimate nature, Not afraid to get his hands dirty.
