2, at the moment. Faith Lehane and Beau Vanderbilt
Character's full name:
Willow Danielle Rosenberg
Age:
She’s around the same age as Buffy and Xander are, depending on how far along we are after the series.
Group Species:
Witch
Gender:
Female
Alignment:
Good, mostly… as long as she doesn’t go through a drastic hair color change of the black variety.
Features:
Willow is 5’6” and about 115 lbs. She has red, shoulder length hair, hazel eyes, and pale skin.
Please supply a character image if possible:
Model's name:
Alyson Hannigan
Personality:
Willow’s personality has somewhat changed from the beginning. Originally, she was brainy, awkward, and somewhat of a geek. However, she’s grown into herself. She has learned to embrace her intelligence by studying and learning to become a very power witch. Her awkwardness faded as she grew into herself and figured out she was a lesbian. The “geek” part of her faded as she learned that she is an essential part of Buffy’s team.
After Tara’s death and her decent into Dark Willow due to the abuse of magic, I feel like she’s somewhat shaken in terms of her abilities. She’s learning that she cannot strictly rely on magic to get her whatever she wants, and that magic is more complex that she originally thought.
Ultimately, she’s confident and loyal, and she’s working on building her confidence up and finding her place in the world.
Likes:
Magic, learning, technology, and connecting with people
Dislikes:
Frogs, spiders, liars, and misogynistic jerks
Strengths:
* She’s a witch, which can cast powerful spells. Depending on the type of magic and how strong it is, the magic transforms her both physically (most noticeable by hair color) and somewhat amplifies her abilities.
* She’s had little physical fighting training, but she’s assisted Buffy for years and can hold her own in a fight (to an extent).
* She’s considered to have genius-level intellect.
* She’s an expert in computer hacking and robotics.
Weaknesses: (Something that can cause you physical pain, possibly death, if someone else used it against you. ex) A vampire's weakness is sunlight.)
* While not amped up as Dark Willow and not using spells to keep her safe, Willow is a human with all of the weaknesses humans have.
History:
Willow was born to Ira and Sheila Rosenburg in the town of Sunnydale, California. She’s friends with Alexander “Xander” Harris from a young age. Eventually she finds her place within a group of good guys, led by vampire slayer Buffy Summers and her watcher, Rupert Giles. Willow helps the group defeat evil, mostly by helping Giles do research either by looking at books or using the internet.
Willow begins dating Oz, a werewolf, but after Oz cheats on her with another wolf, he decides to leave town to figure out what separates him from the wolf. Willow then begins dating a girl named Tara, who is also a witch. While dating Tara, her magical abilities flourish.
Tara and Willow begin to have fights over Willow’s overuse of magic, and it ultimately leads to them breaking up. After hitting rock bottom, Willow decides to quit magic cold turkey. However, she spirals after Tara is murdered by a human. Willow sucks all of the power from dark arts books, which turns her hair and eyes black and also appears to at times alter her voice. This version of Willow is commonly referred to as Dark Willow.
Dark Willow kills Warren, the guy who shot Tara, but she’s not satisfied. She attempts to kill the other two nerds working with him, but Buffy is set on stopping her. Giles shows up with power, which Willow eventually sucks out of him. The magic she takes from him is accompanied by an emotional burst, and feeling all the pain in the world causes her to attempt to end it.
She attempts to use her powerful new-found magic to drain the Earth’s life energy through the effigy of the demon Proserpexa, and she almost succeeds until Xander appears and appeals to her humanity through their friendship and the fact that whatever happens, he’ll still love her. Xander finally gets through to her, and her powers drain away as does the black hair and eyes.
Willow then goes to Westbury, England to study magic and meditation with a coven of Wiccans that Giles knows. Giles tells her that magic is no longer a hobby or an addiction, but that it is a part of her being. The First Evil attempts to destroy the slayer lineage by killing all potential slayers, so the group opens Buffy and Dawn’s home to them. One of those potential slayers is Kennedy, and she boldly goes after Willow’s affection. After some initial hesitation, the two begin dating.
While initially being afraid of using any magic for any reason for fear of Dark Willow coming out, but she ultimately performs a spell using a Slayers’ Scythe that transforms all potential slayers into actual slayers the world over and ultimately helps Buffy and the good guys defeat an army of uber vampires in the Hellmouth. During this spell, her hair turned white as she utilized the powers of good, and at the completion of the spell, her hair was back to its normal red shade. At the end of the battle, Willow stands with the remaining good guys as they look at a giant hole where Sunnydale used to be.
RP Sample:
The mid-day sun shined through the windows of Willow’s room, beaming rays of light on the wooden floor. The red-head pulled a loose fitting, light blue tunic top on over a pair of dark jeans, tugged at the shoulders adjusting it on her body, and looked into the full length mirror. The image, reflected back to her, made her scrunch up her nose in disapproval. In a swift movement, she stripped off the shirt, and in a huff she walked back to her dresser to find another one.
She really didn’t know why she was putting so much effort into her clothing choice. It wasn’t like going to practice magic was going on a date. And, no, the fact that she hadn’t been on one in a long while wasn’t at all factoring into this weird scenario. And it’s not like practicing magic was like going into battle either. Pretty much she just needed herself. Who cares about how she looked?
Apparently she did. She pulled a purple t-shirt with a cartoon cat peering out from the pocket from the dresser, frowned at it, and tossed it back, not worrying that it was no longer folded.
“Why can’t I find anything to wear?” she cried out to herself, while pulling another shirt out of the dresser. She didn’t even look at it before throwing it back.
She fell onto her bed, not really caring that it was freshly made. What was she doing? Why was she being like this? As her eyes searched the ceiling for nothing in particular, she thought. However, she didn’t think of the “what” or the “why.” She knew that already. Deep down, Willow knew that she was putting off practicing magic because she was terrified of her dark side.
True, she pulled off the most powerful spell she’d ever attempted, one that turned all potentials to slayers, and she didn’t get the first black hair on her head. Quite the opposite, in fact. And she had a greater knowledge of magic now, having studied with the coven in England and tapping into the powers of good. She’d seen the whole spectrum from dark to light when it came to magic, and she understood it now more than she ever had. As everything finally set in, the redhead let out a breath of air she’d apparently been holding since she laid down.
A memory popped into Willow’s mind and sidestepped all the clutter, bringing itself to the front of her consciousness. It was a voice. It was weird at first, lighter than it should normally sound as it found its true tone and pitch, which probably came from it being a while since she’d heard it. But the voice finally found its footing and echoed around Willow’s brain, causing her eyes to get a little watery. She finally let it escape her lips.
“Strong like an amazon.”
It sounded different coming from her instead of the Tara-like voice she pulled from memory, but it still had the impact it was supposed to. A smile crept up on her face as she stood, picked up the light blue shirt from the floor, and put it back on. A satisfied Willow reflection smiled back at her, as she grabbed her keys from the side table, opened her bedroom door, flicked off the light, and walked out into the hallway, shutting the door behind her as she went.
“Buffy?” she called out, while making her way through the house. “I gotta run by the Magic Box. Need anything while I’m out?” She paused, but kept walking and looking room-to-room for the blonde slayer. “Maybe some magic? Or boxes? Oooh! I can pick up magic boxes!” she said, obviously making a corny joke.
