History:
Sebastian Beaumont Vanderbilt was born into a very wealthy family from New York. During a family trip when he was little, his entire family was kidnapped by a vampire and his/her (keeping it open in case a vampire here wants to claim responsibility?) lackeys . The vampire tortured them for days, feeding on them and abusing them. Just when the vamp was about to turn Beau, Beau's mom Lillian begged him/her to stop. She offered her own life in exchange for her son. The vampire granted her wish, but under the condition that Beau's father be the one who killed her. Much to the distress of his father Richard and little Beau, she agreed. The vampire instructed Richard to snap his wife's neck, and after 30 or so tense minutes, the deed was done. Beau was made to watch.
Always being one to honor a deal, the vampire let Beau leave, but kept Richard as he was not part of the deal. Beau pleaded, but the vampire refused to let his dad leave. Instead, his distressed and destroyed father took Beau's head in his hands, kissed him on the forehead, and told him he loved him. Then he instructed Beau to run far away, and to not look back or stop running until morning. The vampire let Beau lose, and, reluctantly, he ran. He ran until he was ragged, and his breath came out in sharp puffs. When the sun began to rise, he began looking for someone, anyone to help him. He found a stranger, and the rest is history. He moved in with his uncle, Perry Vanderbilt and his wife Marie. They hadn't had any kids, and the really hadn't wanted them. The strain of suddenly having one, especially one that was so traumatized by what he'd gone through, took it's toll on their marriage. Marie moved to the guest house before finally moving out altogether.
Marie's departure caused Perry to direct all of his attention to young Beau. He ensured that Beau had the best clothes and the nicest things, but Beau really wasn't interested in any of it. He's drive for self-preservation and protection was all that consumed him, and he promised himself that he would one day track and kill the vampire that killed his family. In the aftermath of one of his many night terrors, Beau asked Perry if he could take self defense classes. As his ability to take care of himself in combat increased, so did his well being. He began therapy, and managed to conquer much of the experience with the vampires, although he was never quite the joyful, outgoing boy he once was.
The magic began as mediation techniques, but evolved quickly. Upon getting in touch with the right people, Beau asked his uncle that he be trained by the best, which turned out to be the Devon Coven in England. He spent four years there, studying their techniques and learning what he could from them before returning home. He'd also enrolled in high school there, and he graduated with honors. Upon his return home at the request of his uncle, Beau attended college. While there, he stayed mostly to himself, and he continued both his physical training as well as his magic training, which increased but at a slower rate than he liked. After four years, he graduated with a major in History and a minor in Paranormal Studies.
After college, Beau told his uncle he was wanting to travel the world, but in reality, he had a mission to find the vampire that killed his family. This search brought him all over the world. Years passed, and he encountered lead after lead. However, he still never found the vamp that ruined his life. So he continued to train, and he continued to move around all over. This finally brought him to the town of (open).
Would this be the lead he needed that would finally get him the vampire he so desperately wanted? If he finally was able to find and ultimately kill this vampire, what would he do with this life? And what about his father's body? It was never recovered, and word of his sightings may eventually reach Beau... if they haven't already.
