Chaos and disorder ran rampant through the small town of Sunnydale, California. That is, until the Slayer arrived. During the Seven years Buffy the Vampire Slayer was aired, we have watched our favorite characters fight, runaway, die, come back to life, and deal with the usual problems of living. It all ended with Sunnydale's destruction. The last thing we see is Buffy Summers, Vampire Slayer, smiling. We can all picture what she is thinking... "It's over, it's finally over." Deep in her heart of hearts she knew the relief and happiness was only temporary. All Slayers know the truth. It's part of their abilities. Next to their Slayer strength, combat moves, and senses, they all know the truth... It's never over.
All plots are based after the final TV Seasons of Buffy and Angel. Please play and plot in accordance with this guideline. This only applies to Canon Characters.

Just days ago my wing had snapped in two places, the slash in my upper right wing was still healing along with the gash under my eye, all from a damn demon that wouldn't leave me alone. I was not human, nor really anything else, a unique species in itself, for I was alone. And I don't say that to get pity. I really WAS alone. Parents dead when I was younger, changed and having my DNA messed with by a company called the Company, which is unoriginal in my opinion. This whole scenario reminded me of that game Resident Evil with Umbrella Corp. Except, no zombies. There was playing around with DNA, a fuck load of dodgy shit going down, but no zombies that want to eat your flesh and turn you into one of them. Unless there was but I didn't get a memo. Eh, anyway, with my wing still healing, I was screwed. Unable to fly in case I pulled the wounds open again(that was never fun), plus I was taking no chances with my whole healing factor thing. It was, fickle to say the least.
So, I was walking. Stuck with walking, no flying and no soaring. No being totally free that you were made for the sky. Nope, on the ground and I did NOT like it. My wings itched to snap open, to catch the wind and thermals beneath(not that there were thermals at night, well, much) so I could maximize my flight. Thinking about flying was heart aching, so I tried to focus my mind on other things. Sniffing the air, I headed down a street, wings tucked firmly in my sides so others wouldn't stare too much, my feet bringing me to UC Sunnydale. The air smelled like Sarah, my old mentor and someone at the Company who protected me, and instantly I was in 'predator' mode. Stalking through the campus, I came across a scene. Not Sarah, no, she wasn't one to fight vampires. Yea, I knew about them. Flying in Sunnydale at night clues you in quickly, besides, I didn't think Sarah knew about vamps. No, the girl fighting was just that. A girl. "Hey! Pick on somebody your own size!" I snarled, ready to battle, if I could protect the girl, sure. Little did I know she was Zoey Croft, a Slayer.

The night had been lackluster for the most part. I walked, lip puffed out like a spolied child. It was rare that I was ever let out to patrol. It was even more so when I went by myself. Mum never let me go alone. I had to be with someone she trusted. I swear, you'd think I was a child, instead of a vampire slayer. Perhaps that's why Mum was always up in a rung. I was still young, 14... I suppose I'd worry if it was her instead of me...
I could hear a rumbling as I walked passed the collage. A smile lit up my face. Yes, finally! I could sense him, the vampire that was waiting to strike out at the little girl walking alone at night. He was going to be shocked... I laughed out loud. He sprang from the brush as I ducked. He looked down at me as he flew over my head. He rolled on the ground and rested lithly on his feet. I hopped up and began advancing on him, all the while the smile was on my face. There was no need to speak to him. I knew what he must have been thinking. What is wrong with her? Why isn't she running... Is that a stake?
He didn't have long to think about it. As I knocked him to the ground I heard something all too familiar. Someone calling out "Pick on someone your own size"
I staked the vampire and rolled my eyes. The voice was not familiar, but the phrases were always the same. Let me help you... Are you ok? Hey, leave that little girl alone... and my favorite Pick on someone your own size...
I founded on the direction of the voice. "I agree, he was much too small for me." The aggrivation was dripping from my features. Mouth turned down, arms crossed, eyes narrowed. Why did everyone assume I was incapibale of taking care of myself. I should have been worried about the who instead of the what and why...
It was apparent to me that the lady that spoke wasn't human...
"What the bloody hell are you?" My voice was shrill on the last word, my young age showing yet again. It wasn't that I was scared... well, maybe a little. It wasn't everyday you saw a winged woman. I did have the feeling that she wasn't going to hurt me, which was odd in in itself.

I was ready and primed to take down the creature, adrenaline easily snaking through my system as I prepared myself, except, the girl moved and staked the vampire without so much as me jumping in and getting a few rounds. I was a Death Angel, a creature created within a lab as a soldier type, ready to hunt on demand, kill threats, and take orders. Yea right. I hunted when I wanted, killed threats and I took orders from no-one, not some white coat, nor people in suits in the higher positions of the corporation. Raising up my hands in a gesture of peace, I certainly wasn't trying to offend or anything, I don't think she knew that though. It was not on my list of intentions. Like I had any. "As long as you agree." I went along with what she said, hell, anyone who could defeat a vampire, normally meant they were Slayers, and I didn't want be, Slayed. It didn't sound fun. "I meant nothing by my words before. I just see a creature, and my instinct is to fight."
I paused slightly, upturning my face towards the sky, the moon mirroring within my eyes. "You can fight, and obviously you can take care of yourself. I will not make the same mistake." Twisting around my head, neck tickling with the movement while the edges of my hair bounced along shoulder blades. "You are the first to ask that." I stopped speaking, knowing she was young, but also, knowing she should be able to handle what I told her. At least I hoped so, I didn't really want to scar another person on this earth. Obviously she knew I was not human(the wings gave off that whole 'not human' vibe). "I'm, well my species doesn't exactly have a name. I'm the only one, created." Yea okay, I was bitter about that fact, but anyone who was in this position would probably be the same. Breathing deeply and calmly like what Sarah taught me, I began feeling better, only slightly, but that was enough. "Death Angel is what I have been dubbed. But my name is Sophia."
I attempted a smile, lips turning upwards, edges tugged at the corners, yet somehow, but the feel, it looked more like a grimace. "I won't hurt you." I added, half lowering my broken wing to check on how it was healing, two patches were brighter and more pale than the rest. Even if I did want to hurt her, I couldn't fly, so the outcome of the battle would be me losing. If she ended up attacking me anyway, I'd let her. Only using defensive moves, if anything that should prove I wasn't going to hurt those on the side of good, the good fight, like what I was one.

Her instincts.... that wasn't necissarialy a good thing... fighting instincts that is...
I listened to her. She seemed sincere about what she was saying. "Right... no problem."
"You are the first to ask that."
I smirked. Mum always said I had no tact, which meant I said things that were usually blunt.
"I'm, well my species doesn't exactly have a name. I'm the only one, created."
My knowledge of the slayer and her trials kicked into high gear. "Oh, was it professor maggie walsh? She's been known to dabble in the experiments department... I bet Buffy will want to know about this right off..." I caught myself. "I don't mean, Buffy wouldn't do anything to you... not unless your evil and hurt people..." I stopped my ramblings.
"Death Angel is what I have been dubbed. But my name is Sophia."
"Riiiiigggghhhhtt" The word came out long. A Death Angel? In Sunnydale? What the hell else?
As thoughts ran through my head, Sophia looked like she was about to be ill. No, wait... she was smiling. My brows turned upward and confusion spread across my face.
"I won't hurt you."
Funny enough, I believed her. I watched as she turned her head and looked at her wing. I followed her gaze with my own. "Oh." I said quietly. She was hurt. "That doesn't look..." I was going to say well, but then, it was a wing... "I think it may be infected. We should get you to my mum, shes a watcher, she'll be able to take care of that for you." I laughed. "It's not like you can go to the doctor..." The smile was still on my lips. "A vet maybe..." Come on, I think I know where she is. You can tell me all about what exactly a Death Angel is." My ramblings had begun again.
"I'm Zoey by the way. Zoey Croft, my mum's Lina, short for Angelina. She's great, you'll like her a lot." I stopped to take a breath. "So, how did that happen anyway?"
